False Myths About Getting Pregnant By Emily Basa
The world is filled with old wives tales that have been believed and followed for so long that they eventually become truths. It's confusing trying to figure out what is the truth and what is just a myth. Let's take a look at truth behind pregnancy and the many myths that go along with it as well.
I'm guessing that if you asked yourself "Why Can't I Get Pregnant" you've done your research. You've read the blogs, the articles, book, magazines, and suggestions from friends, etc and you still can't get pregnant. It's quite overwhelming and frustrating trying to soak in all this information. It's even harder to tell which one is real or not.
The truth is that sometimes someone might be practicing a myth, but it works! Sometimes it has nothing to do with the myth practiced, but by the truth of the situation. Everything just fell in place and it worked. So the question remains how do you separate the myths from the facts? That answer starts here.
Stop Worrying So Much Myth
Don't worry about getting pregnant so much. The way to get a better chance of conceiving is if you don't think about it and just let it happen.
Is this even possible? If it's on your mind it is on your mind. Let's say that it is possible to just forget about getting pregnant, there is no clinical evidence that supports this belief. It is known that stressing out too much is bad. In rare cases these mass amounts of stress can lead to physical and mental changes in the body that can affect the ability to ovulate.
Some might argue that thinking about it too much leads to knowing when a person is most fertile, when the best time to conceive is, what kind of food should be taken to help with pregnancy, etc... All these things are good which means that worrying about it might actually be helpful.
Drink Robitussin Before Ovulation
If you drink Robitussin before you ovulate this will make you more fertile.
The myth is that the ingredient in Robitussin, guaifenesin, helps to thin the cervical mucus just like it does for the mucus in your lungs. This makes it easier for sperm to go through the cervix and reach the egg. Guaifenesin does cause mucus to be thinner, but it's not proven that thin mucus will increase fertility. Quantity and consistency in mucus is important and Robitussin doesn't change that.
Have Sex During The Day
You'll get pregnant easily if you have sex during the day and you keep the lights on.
Studies have shown that sperm levels are higher in the morning, but there's no clinical evidence that proves keeping the lights on is a viable way to increase fertility. This by no means you shouldn't have sex during the day. The time of day shouldn't matter when wanting sex.
Have Sex Every Day
When you have sex every day this will help your chances of getting pregnant.
You had sex 20 times in 1 day, but it might not result in pregnancy. This is because it has to timed with ovulation. Major studies have also shown that they found no difference in pregnancy success rates between couples who had sex every day and couple who had sex every other day.

How To Control The Sex Of The Baby
If you want a boy, have sex early in the fertile period. If you want a girl, have sex later in the fertile period.
It is believed that the boy sperm will swim faster than girl sperm. Major studies have shown that this old myth is just that... a myth.
Bike Riding Lowers Sperm Count
Men's sperm count is lowered when they go bike riding.
This myth is not clinically proven, but if the man happens to be a professional cyclists that rides long distances it could be possible that the increased heat, the aggressive movement and grinding of the testicles could change fertility.
Bananas Make Men Sterile
Men that eat non-organic bananas end up being sterile.
This myth comes from a report that the chemicals that are sprayed on bananas to help them grow were causing negatives effects on the sperm count of the farm workers. However there is no clinical evidence that proves men who eat the bananas that were sprayed had low sperm count.
Use An Ice Pack To Increase Fertility In Men
Placing an ice pack on a man's genitals can help increase his fertility.
This myth is based on facts. The fact is that sperm counts rise when the temperature is cool. That is why men who are trying to conceive are told to wear boxers, avoid hot tubs, saunas, long hot baths. The only downfall to this myth is that it takes at least 2 months for a man's sperm count to be affected positively by the cool temperatures.

7 Ways To Be A Good Party Host By Chiqui Pangan
Although your friends love to go to parties, you may find them turning down your invitation each time you decide to throw a party. This is probably because you lack the right skills to host a good one. But don't worry! It's never too late to show your friends that you can spruce up a party that they will never forget. Whether you're throwing a big party or a small gathering, you should make sure that your guests enjoy what you have prepared for them. By making the proper preparations and being a good host, you can ensure that your party will be a success. Here are some tips to help you get started.
1. Finish your chores before guests come pouring in. If your guests arrive early and you are not yet completely prepared, it would be difficult for you to finish your chores or devote yourself entirely to your guests. Thus, it is best to make all necessary preparations ahead of time. Give at least 2 hours after preparing the party. This will give you some time to fix any unforeseen emergencies. Keep your music ready and prepare five or six random CDs in the music system to let the music play without you changing it. You may also hire a DJ, if you have more money to spare. A DJ can keep your guests entertained while you attend to other important matters in your party.
2. Prepare ample amount of food. When preparing the food, always consider the theme of your party and the overall taste of your guests. Make sure that you've prepared a reasonable variety to let your guests choose the food they want to eat.
3. Divide Labor. Even if you think you're a good party planner, it is still not good to do all the work by yourself. Otherwise, when your guests finally arrive, you will be too tired to entertain them. You can either employ someone to help you or ask your family members and friends to share the chores with you. When you let someone do a task for you, make sure to ask for status updates. Always be gracious even if a problem occurs. Don't let anything ruin your mood. After all, the party is for everyone to enjoy including you.
4. Set the mood. As the host, it is your job to set the mood for your party. Introduce your guests to one another, prepare games or encourage everyone to dance on the dance floor. Whatever you do, make sure that everyone is having a great time. Don't forget to plug out the TV before the guests arrive. Otherwise, your guests would probably want to watch TV instead of appreciate what you have prepared for their entertainment.
5. Dress Properly. The first thing that your guests would want to see is you. So, exert extra effort to look gorgeous on your event. When choosing the right outfit, consider style as well as comfort. You should also stick to the party theme, if there is any.
6. Welcome your guests. As the host, you are expected to welcome and greet your guests as they arrive at the venue. If it's a big gathering, assign a chaperon that will escort your guests inside. Try to greet everyone and ask how they are enjoying the party.
7. Smile. Smiles are contagious. So, start the party with a smile and end it with a smile as well. Even if there's a glitch, don't let your beautiful smile leave your lips. Unless, it is something that your guests should also be worried about, don't let them suspect that something is wrong. Remember, the key here is to enjoy the party and everything else will fall into place.
